The Europe Pacific Solidarity network

In the 1980s Pacific issues became the subject of non-governmental organisations (NG0s) and church organisations in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark and Switzerland. These national organisations now work together in the Europe Pacific Solidarity Network.
Since 1989 the Europe Pacific Solidarity Network has organised annual seminars at which activists of the network meet and discuss common campaigns.
The Network and participating organisations have been active on such issues as the impact on the surrounding environment of the Ok Tedi copper mine in PNG, human rights abuses in Bougainville, the political situation in Belau and Kanaky/New Caledonia, support for the victims of past nuclear testing, driftnet fishing, the plans for dumping domestic, chemical and nuclear waste in the Pacific region and the transport of chemical weapons from Germany for incineration on Johnston Island.

ECSIEP

In 1992 the network started the European Centre on Pacific Issues (ECSIEP). ECSIEP was set up to improve the quantity and quality of the information flow from the Pacific to Europe. It makes this information available to the Pacific networks in the seven countries where these networks currently exist.
ECSIEP maintains regular contact with churches and NG0s in the Pacific and supports their campaigns and activities. ECSIEP, furthermore, supports and develops educational projects with the NG0s and church organisations which participate in the Europe Pacific Solidarity Network.
At request of participating organisations in the Europe Pacific Solidarity Network or on its own initiative ECSIEP provides press releases or press-kits for the media.

Goanna
De goanna van het Dreamweb logo komt uit Noord-Australie. Het lijf bestaat uit witte, rode en zwarte gekruisde lijnen. Dit is de X-ray techniek en heet ook wel ' Rarrk'. Het lijkt alsof je door het dier heenkijkt, net als een ' X-ray'.

Dots and Lines
De kunst uit de woestijn kenmerkt zich vooral door stippen en lijnen in felle kleuren.
